International networks
A bridge to dialogue and develop research and innovation projects
Area Science Park’s geographical location, in a territory on the border of Central European and Western Balkan states, has always facilitated the development of a broad network of relationships at European level, fostering participation in numerous EU programmes.
Over the years we have developed many INTERREG cross-border cooperation projects thanks to our expertise in research and innovation, technology transfer and in developing shared policies. Additionally, we are partners in Horizon Europe research and innovation projects, such as IMPRESS and RIANA.
Our laboratories, particularly those focused on life sciences and data science, are part of the Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CERIC-ERIC), an international distributed research infrastructure.
We are also partnered with EOSC – European Open Science Cloud, a European technological ecosystem that promotes open science and open data paradigms, and we are members of e-Dream – European Distributed Research Infrastructure for Advanced Electron Microscopy, an initiative supporting cooperation between providers of advanced electron microscopy infrastructures, collaborative research and transnational programmes.
Not just Europe, but also Friuli Venezia Giulia. In fact, the region is home to a large number of scientific institutions active at both national and international levels, including universities, international organisations, research bodies, music institutions, business incubators and technology hubs, gathered together in the SiS FVG, the Scientific and Innovation System of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The SiS FVG, of which we are a partner, is based on an agreement between the Italian Ministry of University and Research, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
International Mobility and attractiveness
As part of the SiS FVG, we promote international attractiveness by offering assistance and support services to foreign students and researchers who choose to spend a period of study or work in Friuli Venezia Giulia and we help public and private organisations to find highly qualified staff. This is facilitated through two dedicated helpdesks: the Welcome Office FVG and the Euraxess Centre Trieste.
The Welcome Office FVG supports international mobility by offering a network of services to facilitate the arrival and stay of foreign students and researchers and their families in the region.
Euraxess Centre Trieste supports the career development of researchers (PhD and PostDoc), assists both the public and private sector in finding highly qualified staff, and promotes European policies supporting the European Research Area.
