Pietro Campiglia, Board member
He is Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Salerno, where he currently also serves as Deputy Rector. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Naples Federico II, where he also earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
His research mainly focuses on the organic synthesis of peptides and heterocyclic compounds of pharmacological interest, the identification of bioactive compounds from natural sources, advanced analytical chemistry, and omics sciences, with particular emphasis on metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics.
He has extensive experience in the management of academic structures, research programmes, and technology transfer initiatives. From 2018 to 2024, he served as Director of the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Salerno and held several institutional roles, including Rector’s Delegate for Research, Fundraising and Technology Transfer, and Structural Funds.
He is the scientific coordinator and principal investigator of numerous national and international research projects in the pharmaceutical, biomedical, diagnostic, and nutraceutical fields. His work is particularly focused on precision medicine, RNA technologies, omics sciences, therapeutic innovation, and the translation of research results.
