Technologies for the green transition

Our Strategy for a Green Economy

Area Science Park’s contribution to the energy and digital transition focuses on innovative materials and on the development of green and circular energy supply chains. We are working on applied research, the development of pilot plants and public-private joint labs, analysis and policy initiatives to drive this transformation.

A valley for Green Hydrogen. A step towards the future

To facilitate the transition from a fossil fuel-based economy to a green economy, we are contributing to the creation of a cross-border hydrogen valley. This ecosystem includes the development of pilot plants and laboratories in collaboration with companies and research centres, market access for deep tech technologies and the strengthening of public-private partnerships.

The North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley (NAHV) is the first transnational project dedicated to developing a hydrogen green supply chain. It was established through an agreement between the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Croatia and Slovenia, working together on the development of green hydrogen production technologies and identifying new funding sources.

Technologies for the study of materials

Advanced characterisation, morphological and chemical study of materials with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), are just some of the analyses available at our Laboratory of Electron Microscopy (LAME).
