Un Parco giovane e dinamico

In Area Science Park è attiva una comunità di oltre 2.800 persone. La metà non ha più di 40 anni; tre quarti è laureato o ha anche un dottorato di ricerca. Oltre la metà lavora in attività di Ricerca e Sviluppo. Le donne rappresentano più di un terzo del totale (37%).

Un Campus da vivere

Il personale dell’Ente ha a disposizione una palestra, uno sportello counseling, uno sportello antiviolenza e partecipa a cicli di conferenze sulla prevenzione e sul benessere. Inoltre, a disposizione di tutti gli insediati in Area Science Park ci sono mense, bar, sportello bancomat, spazi verdi attrezzati, pista ciclabile, colonnine per la ricarica di auto elettriche.

Asilo nido

Non deve stupire che i primi ospiti di Area Science Park siano i bambini: ogni anno l’asilo nido del Parco li accoglie per aiutare gli uomini e le donne che lavorano nei campus a conciliare gli impegni di lavoro con il ruolo di genitori.

Further information is available at https://www.icgeb.org The ICGEB invites applications for the post of Accounts Assistant POST TITLE: Accounts Assistant DUTY STATION: Trieste, Italy DATE REQUIRED: 1 November 2026 TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed-Term appointment DURATION: Initial probation period of three months, with possibility of one year further extensions subject to satisfactory performance. LEVEL: GS-2 (UN Salary Scales) DUTIES: Under the overall authority of the Chief, Legal and Administration and the direct supervision of the Chief, Financial Services, the staff member will be required to: Book accounting entries for general payments, invoices, advance, accrued and deferred charges for Core Fund and External Funds Trieste; Book other expenses (e.g. Collaborate Research Projects, petty cash, credit cards, Programme Support Costs, miscellaneous exp.); Support posting of payments transactions in the ERP; Support the maintenance of the supplier master data. Provide support to the staff travel process; Prepare training material and deliver training related to SAP invoicing processes; Prepare meetings and courses reconciliation of expenditures and issue of official statement of expenditures for reporting purposes; Monitor the accounting status of insurance policies; Perform other work-related duties as may be required. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organisational goals. LANGUAGES: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Italian is an asset. LEVEL: P2 (UN Scale) DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director-General and guidance and support of the Scientific Coordinator, the Group Leader will: • Initiate and establish in-field collaborations and networks with scientists in the ICGEB Member Countries that work on Virology. • Provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing research through an internationally competitive experimental research programme on Virology. • Develop and secure funding for a vigorous, externally funded research program in Virology through competitive grant applications, resource mobilization from donors, provision of expert technical assistance to the country, policy development and enhancement of research capabilities in ICGEB Member Countries. • Contribute to development of regional anti-viral policies, strategies, programs and activities in collaboration with UN technical clusters ie. WHO, in the context of the UNSustainable Development Goals and European networks. • Collaborate with the other ICGEB Group Leaders in the overall scientific organization in its Trieste, New Delhi, and Cape Town components. • Supervise, mentor and manage the research activities of the junior staff, Fellows and technicians in group; • Take part in ICGEB’s training and capacity-building activities; • Perform other work-related duties, as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Virology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, or a related discipline. Relevant professional experience at the international level virology research and collaborative programmes addressing infectious diseases and virological outbreaks. Previous experience in infectious/communicable diseases or Biological Safety Levels 3 (BSL3) facilities would be advantageous. COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will develop an internationally competitive experimental research programme addressing questions in molecular biology and/or biotechnology related to virology. ICGEB’s priority is to perform research of direct relevance to its Member Countries, therefore a strong translational aspect would be an advantage The candidate will have a proven ability in working and collaborating at international level, as well as a proven track record in securing competitive research grant funding. Previous experience of working in a BSL3 facility, together with future research priorities requiring the use of such facilities is desirable. Candidates with experience in conducting collaborative research programs in low resource settings are encouraged to apply. The candidate will also be expected to demonstrate strong science communication and technical writing skills. Previous experience working with international organizations would be an advantage. Area Science Park cerca 1 Collaboratore Tecnico a tempo determinato per 18 mesi (VI livello professionale del C.C.N.L. Istruzione e Ricerca) con profilo di Sistemista Informatico – Cybersecurity. Tra le principali attività richieste rientrano: scripting di procedure per l’automazione di task, come ad esempio Bash e Python; configurazione sistemi di rete e dispositivi; integrazione sistemi IoT, PLC, microcontrollori e simili; attività di vulnerability assessment e penetration testing; sperimentazione applicativi e tecniche per verifica sicurezza rete; sviluppo reportistica e documentazione.
