It’s becoming increasingly essential to access data that connects the innovation potential of the regional business landscape with its economic and financial performance

Innovation Intelligence FVG aims to expand the information on companies, making it accessible even to non-experts involved in territorial development in terms of innovation, in order to contribute to improving the planning and management of activities and simplify performance evaluation through the creation of ad hoc indicators.

RESULTS

Innovation Intelligence FVG is the platform of Area Science Park based on the collection, filtering, processing and querying of data of thecompanies in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with a particular focus on innovation.

The platform allows users to query an integrated database rich in data from numerous sources (registrations, financial statements, patents, etc.) through a Business Intelligence tool accessible online with interactive infographics, company lists, and their geolocation.

The overall goal of the tool is to provide as many elements as possible for monitoring the complex phenomenon of regional innovation. To this end, ad hoc indicators have been created, such as innovation propensity, the identification of green patents, and the classification of funded projects through the EuroSciVoc taxonomy.

The platform was created with the support and collaboration of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the scientific contribution of the Department of Economic, Business, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences ‘Bruno de Finetti’ at the University of Trieste.
