Director General

Giorgio Graditi

A leading figure in the international landscape of research and technological development in the energy sector, Giorgio Graditi, served as Director General of ENEA and previously as Director of the Department of Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources at the same agency. In these roles, he contributed to the development of national and European strategies, projects and initiatives in the fields of energy, digital and ecological transition, as well as sustainable development.

He currently serves as President of Medener, the association of national agencies for energy efficiency and renewable energy in the Mediterranean, recognised by the European Commission, and President of SIET – Società Informazioni Esperienze Termoidrauliche S.p.A., a company operating in the nuclear sector. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, of the Board of Directors of the NEST Foundation (Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition), and of the Scientific Council of Rome Technopole. He also coordinates the Scientific Council of the Italian National Energy Technology Cluster.

He has been and continues to be responsible for numerous national and European research, development and innovation projects, as well as programme agreements and partnerships with several ministries and stakeholders in the fields of energy and sustainability. He also serves as a member of working groups and advisory and evaluation committees at both institutional and industrial levels. He is the author of scientific publications and more than 300 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings (Scopus H-index 43). He also teaches in university master’s programmes and serves as peer reviewer, associate editor and editorial board member of scientific journals and international conferences.

He has extensive experience and strong expertise in the development of strategies and the management of structured action plans, as well as in the implementation of measures and initiatives for research, innovation and technology transfer of research results, technologies and products. He also contributes to the provision of technical and scientific services to industry, companies and public administrations, working in close collaboration with the national system of public research bodies (EPRs), academia and other national and international organisations.
