Researcher in Omics Sciences – 24-month fixed-term | INGenIO Project

For its Laboratorio di scienze multi-omiche Area Sud – LAAS, located at the University of Salerno, Area Science Park is seeking to recruit one Researcher on a 24-month fixed-term contract (Professional Level III under the National Collective Labour Agreement for Education and Research). The successful candidate will work in the field of Omics Sciences within the INGenIO Project – Next-Generation Digital Infrastructure for the Study of Rare Diseases: Multi-Omics & AI-Guided Target Identification for Precision Drug Discovery & Delivery (CUP J13C26000030007). Scientific Area: Life Sciences

The Researcher will contribute, with a significant degree of autonomy, to the following activities:

  • operating and managing instrumentation for multi-omics analyses;
  • providing scientific and technical support to research projects in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and drug discovery, with a particular focus on rare diseases;
  • supporting the design, procurement, and implementation of new instrumentation to strengthen the project’s research infrastructure;
  • applying multi-omics data to rational drug design and lead optimization;
  • preparing, processing, and managing biological samples, including activities related to the laboratory biobank;
  • implementing and standardizing protocols for the characterization, purification, and synthesis of small molecules and peptides;
  • collaborating with scientific partners on research projects and related research initiatives arising from the project;
  • supporting the expansion of the laboratory’s research activities;
  • contributing to the project’s scientific output, including publications, technical reports, and dissemination activities;
  • supporting the integration of project activities with the EPIRO Platform, developed within the PRP@CERIC project;
  • supporting the definition and implementation of the project’s Data Management Plan (DMP).

Candidates must hold a PhD relevant to the activities described in the call or, alternatively, have at least three years of post-master’s professional or research experience in one or more of the fields specified in the call (eligible Master’s degree classes: LM-17 – Physics, LM-54 – Chemical Sciences, LM-60 – Natural Sciences, LM-13 – Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy, LM-6 – Biology, LM-9 – Medical, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology).

In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Italian citizenship or citizenship of another European Union Member State;
  • excellent command of English and, for non-Italian applicants, adequate knowledge of Italian;
  • familiarity with the main software tools and IT applications used for research data analysis;
  • availability to travel within Italy and abroad.
