Open Positions for 2 Researchers – Life Sciences | INGenIO Project

Area Science Park is seeking to recruit two fixed-term Researchers for a period of 24 months (Professional Level III under the National Collective Labour Agreement for Education and Research). The successful candidates will have expertise in integrated biochemical, biophysical, and structural biology techniques for the study of proteins and/or complex systems of pharmaceutical and diagnostic interest, and will be assigned to the Institute for Technological Innovation (RIT) in the Life Sciences scientific area.

The Researchers will work in collaboration with the Structural Biology Laboratory (SB Lab) and the NanoInnovation Laboratory (NanoLab) at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, within the framework of the INGenIO Project – Next-Generation Digital Infrastructure for the Study of Rare Diseases: Multi-Omics & AI-Guided Target Identification for Precision Drug Discovery & Delivery (CUP J13C26000030007).

The Researchers will contribute to the delivery of advanced, highly specialized services aimed at maintaining and further strengthening the research facilities available at Elettra through the development of methods supporting research and industrial R&D activities. The selected candidates will carry out complementary activities in one of the following areas:

• enhancement of the protein production and characterization platform for biophysical and structural studies supporting drug and diagnostic development;
• enhancement of the advanced biophysical analysis platform for samples of pharmaceutical and diagnostic interest.

Candidates must hold a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) relevant to the activities described in the call, or alternatively must have carried out at least three years of post-master’s professional or research experience in one or more of the fields specified in the call (please refer to the official notice for the list of eligible degree classes).

In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Italian citizenship or citizenship of another European Union Member State;
• excellent command of English and, for non-Italian applicants, adequate knowledge of Italian;
• familiarity with the main software tools and IT applications used for research data analysis;
• knowledge of the main experimental techniques supporting the research activities carried out at the facilities involved;
• availability to travel within Italy and abroad.
