2 Senior Researchers in Omics Sciences – 18-month fix-term| INGenIO Project
For its Laboratorio di scienze multi-omiche Area Sud – LAAS, located at the University of Salerno, Area Science Park is seeking to recruit two fixed-term Senior Researchers for 18 months (Professional Level II under the National Collective Labour Agreement for Education and Research). The successful candidates will work in the field of Omics Sciences, within the INGenIO Project – Next-Generation Digital Infrastructure for the Study of Rare Diseases: Multi-Omics & AI-Guided Target Identification for Precision Drug Discovery & Delivery (CUP J13C26000030007). Scientific area: Life Sciences.
The available research profiles are:
Profile A – Advanced Multi-Omics Technologies Specialist
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of advanced multi-omics analytical techniques supporting innovative research projects. They will work with state-of-the-art technological platforms, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Mass Spectrometry, ensuring high-quality standards and the efficient management of biological samples. The role also involves active participation in scientific collaborations, contributing to the integration of omics datasets and the exploitation of research results. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and an aptitude for interdisciplinary collaboration are essential.
Profile B – Bioinformatics and Multi-Omics Data Management Specialist
The successful candidate will work at the interface between bioinformatics, data science, and the multi-omics laboratory, contributing to the development and management of advanced digital workflows. They will be responsible for processing and integrating complex multi-omics datasets—including epigenomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and spatial and single-cell metabolomics—in support of research and innovation projects. The role includes working with High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures and digital platforms to ensure efficiency, scalability, and compliance with the FAIR principles. The researcher will also contribute to the development of Artificial Intelligence models for biomarker discovery.

Candidates must hold a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) relevant to the activities described in the call or, alternatively, have at least five years of post-graduate scientific research experience in one or more of the fields specified in the call (please refer to the official notice for the list of eligible degree classes).
In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Italian citizenship or citizenship of another European Union Member State;
- excellent command of English and, for non-Italian applicants, adequate knowledge of Italian;
- familiarity with the main software tools and IT applications used for research data analysis;
- knowledge of the principal experimental techniques supporting the research activities carried out at the facilities involved;
- availability to travel within Italy and abroad.
