The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), established
in 1983, is an international, intergovernmental organisation for research, training and technology transfer to industry in the field of biotechnology to promote sustainable global development.
ICGEB is seeking a technician to work under the supervision of the Head of Technical Services to perform the following duties:
- Maintenance of air handling systems, both aeraulic and hydronic;
- Maintenance of various laboratory and plant equipment and instruments;
- Repair of electrical and electronic parts of various instruments;
- Experience with operation of machines such as milling, lathe and welding machines, etc;
- Ability to be on call, i.e., inspect instruments on weekends and holidays, and availability for emergency calls after working hours (this service is additional to the 40-hour work week);
- Procurement of technical materials;
- Assistance for events organized by ICGEB off-site;
- Performance of other work-related duties as assigned.
