Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a growing global health threat, requiring coordinated efforts at multiple levels. The workshop “Tackling antimicrobial resistance: prevention, monitoring and counteraction” brings together national and international experts to discuss current strategies and challenges in combating AMR.
The event will provide an overview of the AMR emergency, considering it in both international and local contexts. It will also showcase European and regional initiatives aimed at raising awareness and coordinating research institutions, hospitals, and stakeholders. It will then focus on biomedical research at the forefront of developing novel and alternative therapeutic solutions to current antibiotics, providing multidisciplinary examples of possible responses to the antibiotic crisis.
By emphasizing prevention, rigorous monitoring, and advanced countermeasures, this workshop, part of the PRP@CERIC project, aims to foster collaboration and accelerate progress in addressing the growing AMR threat.
