Open position: full-time and permanent Hydrogen Technologies Specialist
For its technological infrastructure dedicated to energy value chains, Area Science Park is seeking a Technologist on a permanent contract (third level, C.C.N.L. Education and Research), with the profile of Hydrogen Technologies Specialist, operating in the technological area of Research and Innovation Support.
The technologist will carry out research, development, design, operation, management, and testing activities within the APSU Laboratory – Analysis of Hydrogen Production, Storage and Utilization Systems, as part of the H2SmartLab project. The activities will mainly involve experimental work, including the operational management of systems and equipment for the characterization and validation of components and systems in real or simulated contexts. More specifically, the role may involve:
- setting up, calibrating, and operating laboratory plants and equipment
- performing functional tests on plants and equipment for hydrogen production, storage, and utilisation, including data acquisition, processing, and analysis
- developing and using simulation models and performing related tests
- providing active support in defining plant layouts, implementing operational procedures, standards, and laboratory safety protocols, and preparing user manuals
- supporting interactions and collaborations with industrial and research partners for the testing of prototype components and/or plants or technological trials; acting as an interface between research and technology transfer in pilot projects and demonstration phases
- providing operational support for market surveys to identify economic operators responsible for the technical design and construction of the laboratory.
Candidates must hold a PhD relevant to the activities described in the call, or have carried out professional or research activities in at least one of the fields described in the notice for a minimum of three years after obtaining a Master’s degree (see the notice of competition for the list of eligible degree classes).
Applicants are also required to have:
- an excellent command of English (for non-Italian citizens, an adequate command of the Italian language)
- knowledge of major open-source and/or proprietary software relevant to the activities, and
- willingness to travel within Italy and abroad
