The ICGEB invites applications for the post of Junior Information Technology Assistant

POST TITLE: Junior Information Technology Assistant
DUTY STATION: Trieste, Italy
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed-Term appointment
DURATION: Initial period of one year, with possibility of extensions subject to satisfactory performance.
LEVEL: GS-1 (UN Salary Scales)
DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Officer, the incumbent will assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the ICGEB IT infrastructure and provide technical support to users across the Organisation.
Responsibilities include:

IT Service Desk Support:

• Provide first-level technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure and maintain desktop and laptop computers (Win/Mac, printers, mobile devices and peripheral equipment) ensuring compliance with organisational IT policies.
• Assist with the administration of Microsoft 365 services, including user accounts, email, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Support the onboarding and offboarding of personnel, including workstation preparation, account provisioning and equipment assignment.
• Assist in providing support for monitoring the network services, including wired and wireless connectivity, VPN access and devices attached to the network.

Audiovisual Conference Support:

• Provide technical support for meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, training courses and special events conducted in person, remotely or in hybrid format.
• Coordinate the technical setup and operation of conference rooms, meeting spaces and event venues.
• Prepare, configure, operate and troubleshoot audiovisual and collaboration technologies, including videoconferencing systems, cameras, microphones, speakers, projectors, displays and presentation equipment.
• Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field would be considered an added advantage. Relevant Professional IT certifications are desirable.
COMPETENCIES: A minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in IT support, helpdesk services systems administration. Strong customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users. Ability to analyse and solve technical problems in a timely manner. Flexibility and willingness to
learn new technologies.
LANGUAGES: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Italian is an asset.
